We headed north from Sycamore on Sunday morning and as the day wore on, we decided to head straight to Beaver Lake in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. We had camped here before and loved the beautiful sites on the lake. We got in late and set up at site 10 back in the woods, but as luck would have it, the one non-reservable site on the lake opened up the following morning. We scooped it up.

After moving sites we set up the new mosquito netting that Andrea had sewed together while we were in Sycamore (not all the projects got done before we left).

The weather was a little hit and miss here – some cooler, some rainy, some sunny and lovely. We learned that we should probably pull the mosquito netting up before a big rain – it wound up pretty sandy and muddy, but we were able to clean it off. We hiked to St. Peter’s Dome and Morgan Falls on one of the rainy days and worked on setting up the inside of the trailer a little more.
Here, we finally got a chance to breathe a little and truly relax. There was no cell service, but we did get to try out our cell booster in the truck when we drove around the area. This is a beautiful area of Wisconsin and we were happy to start out our trip in such a lovely part of the state.

I am enjoying the beautiful pictures! The mosquito netting looks wonderful! Sounds like you are learning how to take care of it😀. Love you both!
It looks glorious! I’m loving the pictures and commentary because, as you know, this is the closest to camping I will ever be. I’m so glad you’re finally feeling relaxed and can’t wait for the next installation of Burning Dead Dinosaurs. Love to you both 💜
